These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FORGE Barcode Studio ("FORGE", "the Service"), operated by the FORGE team ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

FORGE is a client-side barcode generation, background removal, and AAMVA driver's license prototype tool available at forge.barcode.studio. The core tool operates entirely in your browser — no data is uploaded to our servers during generation.

2. Permitted Use

You may use FORGE for:

• Generating barcodes for personal, commercial, or educational purposes
• Testing and developing ID verification systems using synthetic prototype data
• Batch generating barcodes for legitimate business operations
• Learning about barcode standards and AAMVA data formats

3. Prohibited Use

You may not use FORGE to:

• Create fraudulent, counterfeit, or deceptive identity documents intended to deceive any person or institution
• Generate barcodes that encode false identity information for use in illegal activities
• Attempt to pass synthetic test barcodes as genuine government-issued identification
• Violate any applicable federal, state, or local laws regarding identity documents
• Circumvent access controls, reverse-engineer, or compromise the security of the Service
• Resell or sublicense the Service without explicit written permission

The AAMVA developer tool is intended exclusively for testing ID verification software. It is your responsibility to ensure your use complies with all applicable laws.

4. Credits and Payments

FORGE offers free and paid tiers. Paid credits and subscriptions are processed through Paystack. By making a purchase:

• You authorise the stated charge to your payment method
• Credits are non-refundable once consumed but unused credits may be eligible for a refund within 7 days of purchase — contact us
• Monthly subscriptions renew automatically and may be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days notice

5. Intellectual Property

The FORGE application, design, and code are our intellectual property. The barcodes you generate using your own data are yours. AAMVA field codes and standards are the property of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators — we implement the standard but do not claim ownership of it.

6. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that barcodes generated by FORGE will be accepted by any particular scanner, system, or institution. Scanner compatibility depends on factors outside our control including the scanning software version, configuration, and implementation.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 90 days prior to the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violation of these Terms, at our sole discretion, without notice. Prohibited use violations may be reported to relevant authorities.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will note the last updated date at the top of this page.
